Read the Three Anthony Award-Nominated Stories for 2020 Published by Down & Out Books

Down & Out Books was thrilled to hear that three of our short stories had been nominated for a 2020 Anthony Award … and we are pleased to share them in their entirety with you now.

The three stories are …

“Turistas” by Hector Acosta, which was featured in ¡Pa’que Tu Lo Sepas!: Stories to Benefit the People of Puerto Rico edited by Angel Luis Colón;

“Unforgiven” by Hilary Davidson, which was featured in Murder a-Go-Go’s: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Music of the Go-Go’s edited by Holly West; and

“Red Zone” by Alex Segura, which was featured in ¡Pa’que Tu Lo Sepas!: Stories to Benefit the People of Puerto Rico edited by Angel Luis Colón.

In addition to these nominees, Down & Out Books received five other Anthony Award nominations: The Unrepentant by E.A. Aymar (for Best Paperback Original); The Eyes of Texas: Private Eyes from the Panhandle to the Piney Woods edited by Michael Bracken (for Best Anthology); ¡Pa’que Tu Lo Sepas!: Stories to Benefit the People of Puerto Rico edited by Angel Luis Colón (for Best Anthology); Murder A-Go-Go’s: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Music of the Go-Gos edited by Holly West (for Best Anthology); and Seven Ways to Get Rid of Harry by Jen Conley (for Best Young Adult).

Bouchercon 2020 will be virtual this year, with the winners of the Anthony Awards presented as part of an online ceremony on October 17.
