The nominees for the 2018 Anthony Awards were announced this morning … and we’re thrilled to see so many familiar names being recognized for their work.
• Thomas Pluck was nominated for his book BAD BOY BOOGIE in the category of Best Paperback Original.
• Two short story authors received nominations for their contributions to two Down & Out Books anthologies: Hilary Davidson for “My Side of the Matter” (KILLING MALMON) and Art Taylor for “A Necessary Ingredient” (COAST TO COAST: PRIVATE EYES FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA).
• Three of the five titles nominated for Best Anthology were published by Down & Out Books: COAST TO COAST: PRIVATE EYES FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA (Andrew McAleer and Paul D. Marks, editors); KILLING MALMON (Dan and Kate Malmon, editors); and PASSPORT TO MURDER: BOUCHERCON ANTHOLOGY 2017 (John McFetridge, editor).
And so many other authors who are members of the Down & Out Books family were included: co-hosts Eric Beetner and S.W. Lauden, nominated for their podcast Writer Types; Joe Clifford with two nominations, one for the Bill Crider Award and another for Best Anthology; Jen Conley for Best Short Story; Gary Phillips for Best Anthology; and Christopher Irvin for Best First Novel.
Congratulations to everyone nominated! And we’ll see you in St. Petersburg in September for Bouchercon 2018!
